Coriander is widely used to flavour dishes. The herb originates from the Middle East, is part of the carrot family and has feathery leaves. Coriander oil is created by steam distilling the leaves. The ancient Egyptians called coriander the 'happy herb' because of its fresh, uplifting scent. Coriander is now available all over the world and is mainly used in Asian and Central and South American dishes.
