Coarse sea salt

More about Coarse Sea Salt

Sea salt is extracted by evaporating seawater in salt pans. These are created shallow basins where seawater is led. After evaporation, the remaining salt is scooped up, ground and sieved for impurities. This is the traditional way of extracting salt and has the advantage that smaller minerals are not lost in the process, but remain present in the final product.

Our coarse sea salt comes from Portugal, where it is extracted from the lagoon of the Ria Formosa nature reserve, which is located on the Algarve coast. The salt can - of course - be used for consumption and can also be added to all kinds of care products.

Usage

You can of course use coarse sea salt in the kitchen, just as you are used to. In addition, you can use coarse sea salt in many different ways in care products. How about a delicious coarse salt scrub, for example? Mix 100 grams of coarse sea salt and 100 grams of fine sea salt in 50 ml of carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond oil, jojoba oil or coconut oil) and add a few drops of essential oil (e.g. lavender, manuka or lemongrass). This scrub works great to exfoliate in a natural way (= remove dead skin cells) and make your skin supple, soft and radiant again. It is better not to use this scrub on your face and sensitive skin, for that it is better to make a scrub with only fine sea salt.
